Maybe you’ve spent a lot of your life being who you thought you were supposed to be.

You learned how to be good, helpful, responsible or easy to love. You got really good at noticing what was expected of you—and maybe not quite as good at noticing what you actually wanted.

Now you might find yourself questioning things you used to feel certain about, disappointing people you love, setting boundaries that feel incredibly uncomfortable or realizing that some of the rules you’ve been living by don’t actually belong to you.

Therapy can be a place to sort through what you’ve inherited—from family, relationships, religion, culture or earlier versions of yourself—and decide what you want to carry forward. Not because someone else says you should, but because it actually feels like you.

WHAT WE MIGHT WORK ON TOGETHER:

WHAT DOES THERAPY WITH ME LOOK LIKE?

Therapy with me isn’t about replacing one set of rules for how you “should” live with another. I’m not here to tell you what choices to make, what relationships to keep or leave, what to believe or who you’re supposed to become.

Instead, we’ll get curious about the beliefs, expectations & patterns you’ve picked up along the way. We might explore where your guilt comes from, why disappointing someone feels so uncomfortable, what happens when your needs conflict with someone else’s or how to tell the difference between what you want & what you’ve learned you’re supposed to want.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can question things, change your mind, feel complicated feelings & practice trusting your own voice—without needing me to give you the “right” answer.

When it fits what we’re working on, I can also incorporate EMDR to help process experiences, memories or beliefs that continue to feel stuck.

WHEN CAN WE MEET?

I offer virtual therapy appointments for Utah clients in the mornings, with session start times of 7 AM, 8 AM, 9 AM, 10 AM & 11 AM Mountain Time.*

So whether you’re an early bird, want to meet before work or prefer to get therapy in before the rest of your day gets going, you have a few options. :)

*Availability for specific session times may vary.

ONLINE THERAPIST FOR WOMEN IN UTAH

I’m Emilee Crowder, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor providing virtual therapy to women throughout Utah. I specialize in people-pleasing, anxiety, attachment wounds, relational trauma & religious trauma.

I’m a relational, trauma-informed therapist, which means I’m interested in more than just helping you get rid of symptoms. I want to understand you—the relationships, experiences, expectations & environments that shaped how you learned to move through the world.

I tend to work especially well with thoughtful, self-aware people who can understand themselves really well on paper but still find themselves stuck in patterns they can’t quite think their way out of. Together, we can slow those patterns down, understand why they make sense & figure out what you want to do differently.

THE PRACTICAL STUFF

If you’re looking for online therapy in Utah & you’re ready to understand the patterns that keep you second-guessing yourself, therapy can be a place to reconnect with your own needs, wants & voice. Start by filling out my Therapy Interest Form, & I’ll reach out about scheduling a free 15-minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit.
