Maybe you’ve gotten really good at handling things on your own.

You’re capable. You figure things out. You’re often the person other people lean on—and somewhere along the way, needing less from everyone else may have started to feel safer than needing something & being disappointed.

Maybe asking for help feels uncomfortable. Maybe you minimize what you’re going through because someone else has it worse. Or maybe you’re so used to being independent that you don’t realize how much you’re carrying until you’re completely exhausted.

Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to have everything figured out. We can get curious about where that independence came from, what it’s protected you from & what it might look like to let yourself need, receive & take up space without feeling like you’re asking for too much.

WHAT WE MIGHT WORK ON TOGETHER:

WHAT DOES THERAPY WITH ME LOOK LIKE?

You don’t have to come to therapy with a perfectly organized explanation of what’s going on. You can show up overwhelmed, unsure where to start or saying, “I don’t even know why this bothers me so much.” We can start there.

I’m relational, engaged & curious in sessions. Together, we might trace a current reaction back to something you learned much earlier, notice where you automatically minimize your needs or explore why receiving support can sometimes feel harder than giving it.

Therapy isn’t about convincing you that your independence is a problem. It’s about giving you more choices—so being capable doesn’t have to mean carrying everything alone, & needing other people doesn’t have to mean losing yourself.

When it fits what we’re working on, I can also incorporate EMDR to help us work with experiences, memories or beliefs that continue to feel stuck.

WHEN CAN WE MEET?

I offer virtual therapy appointments for Alaska clients in the mornings, with session start times of 7 AM, 8 AM & 9 AM Alaska Time.*

So if you’re an early bird, want to meet before work or just prefer getting therapy in before the rest of your day gets going, you have a few options. :)

*Availability for specific session times may vary.

ONLINE THERAPIST FOR WOMEN IN ALASKA

I’m Emilee Crowder, a Licensed Professional Counselor providing virtual therapy to women throughout Alaska. I specialize in people-pleasing, anxiety, attachment wounds, relational trauma & religious trauma.

I tend to work especially well with people who are thoughtful, self-aware & very good at understanding why they do what they do—but still find themselves stuck in the same patterns. Knowing where something came from doesn’t always make it easier to change.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed & collaborative. We’ll pay attention to the patterns showing up in your life, relationships & even in therapy itself—and create space for you to experiment with doing things differently without needing to get it “right.”

THE PRACTICAL STUFF

If you’re looking for online therapy in Alaska & you’re ready for a space where you don’t have to be the one who has everything figured out, start by filling out my Therapy Interest Form. I’ll reach out about scheduling a free 15-minute consultation so we can meet, talk about what you’re looking for & see if we might be a good fit.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO CARRY EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF.
